Sindh Govt. Girls Students Scholarships of 1.2 Billion Rupees in 2014

Sindh Govt. Girls Students Scholarships of 1.2 Billion Rupees in 2014 is only for girls students for this year 2014.Sindh government is going to distribute scholarships of 1.2 billion rupees among the girl students of the province. These scholarships will be distributed among the  students of class 6th to 10th. 450000 girls students of pronince will get this grant in the year 2014-15. Girls of rural areas will be given scholarship of 3500 rupees while girls of urban areas will get 2500 rupees each.

Sindh education department has signed an agreement for the distribution of scholarships via easy paisa with Tameer Bank and Telenor. The Agreement was signed on Friday by provincial Minister of education , Nisar Khoru, President Tameer Bank, Nadeem Hussain and senior official of Telenor Pakistan. Chief Program manager of reforms support program Saba Mehmood was also present at the occasion. Telenor will start the distribution of these Sindh government scholarships for girl students through easy paisa from the August 2014.

This scheme will be very helpful in reducing the drop out rate among  girls, specially in rural areas. Other provinces should also follow this scheme to encourage and promote girl education in their respective provinces. There is a proposal in consideration about giving this grant to the primary school school going girls too. This step will ensure the 100 percent enrollment in primary schools. We hope that Provincial government will approve this proposal too for enhancing the enrollment ratio of girls.
