PM fee reimbursement scheme to facilitate 3,184 Sindh universities students are given by CM Nawaz Sharif.Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif might visit the University of Sindh Jamshoro on June 3 and he would compensate the fee of 3,184 students of Masters including MS, MPhil and PhD programs to seven universities of the province. The facility will be provided under prime minister’s fee reimbursement scheme for less developed areas.
In this regard a ceremony will be conducted at Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto Research Chair and Convention Centre, Allama II Kazi Campus Jamshoro and respective students of research scholars of seven universities will take part. As many as 2,028 students and scholars of University of Sindh Jamshoro, 553 students of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro, 40 students of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Jamshoro, 12 students of the University of Karachi, 05 students of NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi, three students of Dow University of Health Sciences Karachi and 543 scholars of Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam will be assisted with the fee reimbursement scheme.
The main purpose of the scheme is to provide and enhance the opportunities for higher education for the talented but needy students residing in far flung and remote areas of Pakistan. The scheme has been initiated by the Higher Education Commission HEC which consisted on the time period of five years. It was started in FY 2012-13 and those students who started in the last year, i.e FY 2016-17 are also eligible until the completion of their program. These steps have been acknowledged by vice chancellor Prof Dr Nazir A Mughal and academic circles for starting Prime Minister’s fee reimbursement scheme for the hopefuls of remote areas of the country.
