Teradata Announces National IT Excellence Awards 2014
ISLAMABAD: Teradata, an analytic data platforms, marketing applications and services company, announced on Monday winners of the 12th Teradata National IT Excellence Awards.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, federal minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources and Dr Syed Ismail Shah, Chairman, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, presented trophies to the winners.
Rizwan Arif won the ‘Excellence in IT Business Intelligence Award’ for successfully implementing more than 250 accounting and management software programmes in more than 800 organisations, including more than 300 schools.
Excellence in Software Development Award went to Sham Zia for his project ‘Track Forever’, an enterprise-grade vehicle-tracking and fleet management software solution.
Excellence in Software Export Award was given to M/S NetSol Technologies Limited, for its efforts resulting in achieving the highest software exports since 2004.
Excellence in IT Research and Development Award was won by Osman Hassan for his role in developing new ideas, technology, techniques and products through research and development
Excellence in IT Education Award was given to Dr Sajjad A Madani who has co-prepared and presented the concept paper to establish a virtual campus for distance learning.
Excellence in Project Management Award went to Naeem Siraj. He demonstrated qualitative and quantitative results with the successful implementation of Retail Management System at 400 point-of-sale systems.
Excellence as an IT Student Award was earned by Suleman Belal Kazi, a student at NUST. He has been on the Dean’s honour roll for all six semesters.
The award for Excellence in IT Enabled Service Offering went to Ahmad Saeed and Dr Bilal Zaka for their IT-enabled services through PakWheels, the community-based automobile website.
